Branwell Bronte

26th June 2017 will mark 200 years since the birth of Branwell Bronte.  Branwell Bronte shared much of his sisters’ creative talent, earning praise for his poetry and moving in local literary circles.

  • On Saturday 17th June at 11am, Steven Wood and Peter Brears will give a talk based on their recent publication, ‘The Real Wuthering Heights: The History and life of the Withins farms.’   Historian Peter Brears and Haworth Local Historian Steve Wood will explore the varied aspects of life in the ‘Withins’ and the hill farms of Yorkshire.


  • On Saturday 1st July at 11am, celebrated local historian Ian Dewhirst MBE will give a talk called ‘Branwell Bronte and other Haworth writers of his time’ in Keighley Local Studies Library.

Both talks are open to all and free of charge.
